CHMM Essentials of Hazardous Materials Management (EHMM) Course The Magnolia Chapter ACHMM sponsors the EHMM course throughout the year. EHMM Course Dates The EHMM course schedule below, sponsored by the Magnolia Chapter ACHMM and the University of South Carolina - Aiken, has been established and communicated to the Institute of Hazardous Materials Managers. The course will be held at the University of South Carolina, Aiken, Business & Education Bldg. - the computer-based certification exam is available the last 2 weeks of odd months Course Schedule for 2008: November 11-13, 2008 If you are interested in attending the course and/or taking the exam, please note the following: - You may sit for the computer-based exam without taking the course, although we recommend the course as preparation for the exam. You must be approved by the Institute of Hazardous Materials Managers (IHMM) to take the exam. - The Institute of Hazardous Materials Managers (IHMM) application deadline for the course/exam is 10/29/08. Applications, the latest fee schedule and reference forms can be obtained from the IHMM website at www.ihmm.org., as well as contacting: The Institute of Hazardous Materials Management 11900 Parklawn Drive Rockville, MD 20850 Telephone (301) 984-8969 Fees, reference forms and applications must be submitted together by the 10/29/08 deadline. You can register for the course by contacting Alan Andrews, USCA, at (803) 641-3563. The cost for the EHMM course at USCA is $595. After deciding to take the examination and receiving approval from IHMM, you should notify both USCA and the IHMM (301) 984-8969. Course Fees Standard fee is $595 Course Objectives The EHMM course objectives: To enhance the knowledge of environmental and hazardous materials professionals. To prepare CHMM canditates for the certification examination. Faculty All of the faculty for this course are practicing professionals in the field of environmental and hazardous materials management. All are CHMM certified, drawn from business, industry, and government agencies, they have a wealth of experience, knowledge and professional insights to share. Course Materials As a participant you will receive a course notebook and a handbook on hazardous materials management. These materials will assist you as you prepare for the CHMM examination and as you perform your job duties and responsibilities in the future. Your course fee covers the notebook, course text, program materials, break refreshments, lunches, and certificate of attendance. When you enroll we'll send the course handbook to you as soon as we receive payment or purchase order number, to help prepare for the and examination. Your enrollment confirmation will include hotel/motel information. Advise us at the time of enrollment if you are a person with a disability and desire special accommodations. Requests will be kept confidential. The three-day course meets criteria for the nationally accepted Continuing Education Unit. Each participant completing a course successfully will earn 2.4 CEU. Who Qualifies To Take The CHMM Examination? The Institute of Hazardous Materials Management applies the following standards in its review of applications for eligibility to take the examination: Course Cancellation We prefer enrollment in advance. if you cannot attend the course, please notify us at least twenty days before the course starts, and we will refund your fee. If a minimum number of registrants is not reached ten days prior to the course, your registration fee can be applied to a future course. Cancellations received later than twenty days before the course are subject to a $100 late cancellation fee. With the program director's approval, a portion of this charge may be applied to the fee for a future course. Cancellations made after the course starts are subject to the full course fee.
